How to organise a successful picnic?
When the fine weather returns, it sometimes takes very little to turn a simple picnic into a unique moment of togetherness and sharing. But between the sausage, crisps, drinks, fruit and cutlery… preparing a picnic can quickly become a bit of a headache. So, how can you make the most of your outing without forgetting the essentials? Here are our tips for better organisation with the indispensable cool bag !
1. A picnic with recipes that are easy to carry in your insulated bag
For a successful picnic, it’s best to plan dishes that are easy to carry and share. Mixed salads, homemade sandwiches, wraps, savoury tarts, savoury cakes or chopped fruit : opt for recipes that are easy to eat, even without a table.
A good tip : divide the food into airtight containers (such as lunch boxes). This prevents mishaps, such as sauce leaking at the bottom of the bag, whilst keeping the food well protected until mealtime.
2. Keeping food cool in your insulated bag
One of the most important aspects of a picnic is food preservation. Drinks, fresh produce, desserts, fruit and sauces must be kept at the right temperature, especially in summer.
For this, an insulated bag quickly becomes essential. It allows you to transport the whole meal with greater peace of mind, helping to keep the food fresh until you arrive at the picnic spot.
A little tip: add an ice pack to the bag for even more freshness !
3. Make sure you pack all those handy little travel essentials that’ll make all the difference !
Cutlery, napkins, a tablecloth, a bottle opener or even a small bag to take rubbish home in… these are all the little details you absolutely must think of!
The trick to making sure you don’t forget anything : draw up a quick checklist before you set off. You could even keep some essentials right in your picnic bag so you always have them to hand.

4. Organise your bag to avoid chaos
A picnic is even better when everything is easy to find. Put the heaviest items at the bottom, drinks on the sides, fragile dishes on top and small accessories in separate pockets.
Good organisation saves time when you’re setting up, but also helps avoid unpleasant surprises: squashed fruit, cutlery that’s nowhere to be found, or napkins forgotten at the bottom of the bag.
5. Think practical, but also sustainable !
Picnics are often associated with disposable packaging. However, it’s very easy to make them more environmentally friendly : reusable lunch boxes, to-go bottles, travel cutlery, washable napkins, a waste bag…
As well as being more eco-friendly, this approach also makes everyday life more enjoyable. Less plastic, fewer things to forget, less waste : just the essentials to enjoy yourself.
