You probably eared about the tea ceremony in Japan. But what do we know about it ?
Tea was first from China. It arrived in Japan during the 7th century. Drinking tea became an art with the buddhism. During the 13th century, monks established some rules about the tea celebration. It is literally called « hot water for the tea ».
In Japan, powder green tea, aka matcha, is drunk during those ceremonies. Each of the participant takes a bit of tea with a bamboo spoon and hot water is poured on it with a special spoon. Then it is mixed with a small whisk. Each of the participant takes a meditation position and drink the tea quietly.
