Fabien is our designer. Last week, he went to China to view monbento’s factories and potential new ones.
New factories ? Yes! Since last year, things are going faster. The number of point of sale is growing and the website is only selling products from our brand. That high demand needed an increase in production of bento boxes and accessories.
In Shangai, Fabien first met Nial the author of the MBO Tree girl graphism. Together, they worked on new illustrations for the up coming collections.
Then, he met up with Therese, the person responsible for production in China. They planed together the rest of the trip. Therese’s language skills were very helpful during this journey.
In the factories, Fabien made sure that everything was going well with the production. Our partners in China put a lot of themselves in monbento’s projects. They are helping us organising our first fair in the US. The production is taking place as planned. Soon monbento will cross the Atlantic Ocean to land in Chicago!
That’s not all! We are also selling bento boxes in Asia. For that, products are stocked in Hong Kong. Fabien went to the warehouse.
He also visited new factories with the aim of presenting you over the coming months, an insulated bag for monbento boxes.
After such a long trip, one anecdote remains. Fabien tried something typically Cantonese. An egg that macerated during more than 6 months. This was an honnor he couldn’t refuse! The egg was rotten. The taste was really bad. Even if the whole Chinese cuisine is delicious!
