Hello monbento lovers!
We meet again this January for a new article!
When we think of January, we immediately associate it with the New Year and for some people, that means making new resolutions.
So, what about you?! Are you rather in the “resolutions” team or in the “I don’t change my habits” team?
Professional sports and new resolutions
In professional sports, as in all professions, we are constantly questioning what we do, challenging ourselves, seeking to progress, move forward and improve.
All of this is intimately linked to each of us’ personality and associated with the different sports or activities we practice. So, there are no established rules in professional sports, everyone acts as he or she wishes, as she or he feels best and what he or she considers to be the best performance.
How is it going for me?
For my part, in my personal life as well as in my professional life, I belong to the resolutions team. By “resolutions“, I mean not only reviewing my goals, those that have been achieved, those that can be revised upwards or those that don’t need to be changed, but also setting myself new ones, both personal and sporting.
My mental coach supports and helps me clarify, classify and list each of my goals, as well as the means I can implement to try to reach them in the most efficient way possible. As I like everything to be clear and organized in my mind, setting different goals and resolutions at the beginning of the year helps me constantly challenge myself.
Moreover, I know it is a good way to improve my self-confidence and performance. In fact, my resolutions are always in line with my will to be always more efficient in the goals I set myself. Let me illustrate this with my plans for the coming year!
My goals for 2021
– For this new year, the Tango Bourges Basket team, that I play for, aims to reach the same results as at the beginning of the season (i.e., 10 victories out of 10 games played) in order to reach the French Women’s Basketball League championship next May.
To reach that goal, each player has her own responsibilities. That’s why, in addition to the daily collective training sessions, I have set myself the quantitative goals to stabilize my weight at around 66 kilos (145.5 lbs), to do three shooting sessions per week, to follow every day my core strength, muscles building and stretching routine and to visit at least once a week my physiotherapist.
I think this should help me perform better and maximize my chances to reach my goals in the club and in the French team/national 3X3 team, to try to qualify France for the biggest international competition.
– In addition, apart from basketball, I am constantly trying to improve my knowledge and practice of foreign languages – English and Spanish – by watching series, talking with the foreigners from my team, reading books and taking lessons.
So, what about you? 🙂
