Art and food

At one time or another, our parents or even grandparents all told us not to play with our food. Some artists still prefer to not take their parents’ advice. In the 16th century, Arcimboldo made portraits out of veggies.

Some modern artists continue to play with their food and use different types for their projects. Dan Cretu tried out salami to reproduce a cassette tape. He made series of objects with food that look really cool. Take a look at them by clicking here.

Takaya tried something else. He made head pieces with veggies and roots. They need to be very fresh to look good. I can imagine that he has to be very fast after picking the vegetables and leaves. I think it looks very cool. Wanna see more? Click on the link to see the whole collection.
