Making crisps in the microwave ? Is that even possible ?
I didn’t think so until I decided to try it out myself.
The crisp-maker is a small appliance imported straight from Japan.
Start by peeling a potato. Then slice it very thinly using the grater. Make sure to use the white potato holder provided in order to avoid cutting yourself (the strip is very sharp !).
Arrange the potato slices on the rack and place the lot in the microwave.
Refer to the instructions provided with the crisp-maker to set the proper cooking time and power according to the size of the potato.
Hint : 30 seconds before the end of cooking time, try to keep an eye on the crisps to make sure they don’t get too brown.
Take them out of the microwave and sprinkle them lightly with salt.
You’ll be surprised to how good home-made crisps taste !
Do like me and delight your family and friends with delicious crisps !
I promise I’ll try beetroot and pumpkin crisps next!
