Emilie and Fabien just came back from their business trip to Shanghai and Hong Kong. Here is a short summary of it:
The purpose of this trip to China was to make sure everything was going right with the monbento lunch box production. On that end there’s nothing to report as everything is going just as planned.
During this trip, they took the time to try the Chinese massage called Tui Na. They described it as a “sportive” experience.
Six people get a massage in the same room with all of their clothes on. Their bodies are stretched in every which way.
In fact, it’s a part of traditional Chinese medicine. Tui Na uses acupuncture points and very precise spots from the body in order to make the energy circulate and give the body balance. It is a Chinese tradition, which is why our partners get massages up to three times a week.
The other experience « made in China » was the « bird’s nest » in a Hong Kong restaurant. The dish is made with a coconut cream and bird’s nest. In reality, it’s a swiftlet’s nest, or rather the nest they make out of their saliva. It’s known for its high nutritional content. Yes! You’ve got it right! This dish consists of eating coconut with bird saliva! Emilie told me that when you know how it is made, the taste and consistency in your mouth is kind of weird…
Once again this trip was very enriching and we’ll have more to report after the next trip to China!
